DAVID LYNCH TRIBUTE: WILD AT HEART + WALYA at The Old Picture House, 7 Winton Street, Totterdown, BS4 2BW

A event on Saturday 25th October. The event starts at 19:00.

Join us for a screening of David Lynch’s Wild at Heart, a darkly romantic, delirious road movie that burns with passion, violence, and surreal Americana. Starring Nicolas Cage as Sailor and Laura Dern as Lula, the film follows two lovers on the run across the American South, pursued by a cast of bizarre and menacing characters.

Winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes, Wild at Heart is a surreal love story drenched in violence, desire, and dreamlike Americana, part The Wizard of Oz, part nightmare. Expect snakeskin jackets, Elvis songs, and the unmistakable electricity of Lynch’s world.

The evening opens with a live performance by Walya (aka Natalia Mamcarczyk), a Polish-born, Bristol-based experimental sound artist. Profoundly inspired by Lynch, Walya will present an audiovisual rescore built from reconstructed post-Soviet film fragments — weaving nostalgic soundscapes, distorted synths, and haunting voices into an evocative tribute to the filmmaker’s world.
