on Thursday 29th February. The event starts at 19:30.
Cuculi Presents an evening with much loved alt-folk Bristol singer Pearl Love as we celebrate the launch of her new EP 'Tracing'. Even in its moments of poignant melancholy, Pearl's music is always shot through with an unquenchable sense of hope - a feeling just as present on 'Tracing' as her first collection 'Salt' (2019). We're excited to welcome Pearl, her piano, her ukelele and a collection of guests to The Orchard Coffee & Co on 29 February, with an opening set from songwriter Ben Cipolla.
There are three ticket prices available for this show:
General: £13
Community supporter: £16
Low income: £10
We ask that those who make more than £25k per year consider opting for Community Supporter as this allows us to subsidise low income tickets.. We consider low income to apply to those who earn less than £15k per year, but we don’t ask for any proof.

PEARL LOVE
Pearl Love is a songwriter, gigging musician and harmony sharer, born and based in Bristol. Music is a key and undivided part of Pearl's identity, and connection is at the core of what drives her to create and share songs - whether that be through songwriting, performing or holding space for group singing. Drawing from her own experiences, Pearl’s songwriting is personal, poetic and evocative. As a performer she chooses to embrace her vulnerabilities, inviting listeners in to hear the stories and inspirations behind each song. All of this is carried by Pearl's clear, delicate vocals self-accompanied by piano playing and fingerpicked ukulele, that sounds almost harplike in quality at times.
Tracing is Pearl’s second EP. Recorded and produced by Tom Campbell at Upton studios, the four tracks were written over a number of years spanning big changes. The most notable one being a transitional move from her caravan home in Falmouth to a shared home in Bristol. From Sea to City, from the 'Tincan' to '138', this collection of songs explore multiple themes of Home, change, acceptance and friendship.
Bristol-based singer-songwriter, Ben Cipolla, has proven to be a master of writing catchy songs over the past few years. His latest album ‘Casa Mia’, explores a deep, meaningful connection with his Sicilian roots. Blending elements of Jazz, Soul and Indie-Pop, his music creates an effortlessly joyous feel and a unique vibrant yet chilled sound. ‘Casa Mia’ has surpassed 100,000 streams online and has received highly rated album reviews from magazines, such as Wonderland, F Word and Earmilk. Songs from the album have been aired on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2. Recently, Cipolla has supported a number of well-respected artists including Ellie Dixon, MICHELLE and Nick Harper. When on stage, Cipolla radiates a coolness with his soul-soothing voice and has a distinctive percussive guitar style, inspired by the likes of Nick Drake, Jack Johnson and Lianne La Havas.
Having built a reputation for himself as 'one to watch' on the UK Jazz scene, Cipolla has also performed at the BBC Swing Jazz Prom at the Royal Albert Hall with Clare Teal, appeared on lineups alongside artists like Gregory Porter at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, as well as gracing the stage at Manchester Jazz Festival, WOMAD and Shambala Festival.
