A @groovin4good & @snapshot.collab Arts and Music Festival

4 SPACES: Live Music / DJs / Creative Workshops / Bonfire / Art Installations / Cinema Room / Stalls / Dancefloor

Join us in a vibrant celebration of queer creativity, community, and joy! Rhythms of Resistance is an arts and music festival at The Pickle Factory in support of Rainbow Migration’s ‘No Pride in Detention’ Campaign. 

Your Dancefloor: We’ve got an incredible line up of queer DJs bringing Brazilian funk, salsa, baile and more - plus a live band to kick the night off with a BANG. This dancefloor is gunna be a delicious space to move n groove together

The Living Room: head upstairs to our more relaxed, creative space for film screenings, creative workshops with plenty of rugs and cushions to lounge on 

Our Kitchen: browse craft stalls and support local creatives whilst grabbing a drink or two… ALL BAR PROFITS TO RAINBOW MIGRATION, fill ya boots !!

Backyard: get toasty around the bonfire - connect, reflect, and recharge under the night sky with a new friend or wander through our immersive art installations 

All of that and more awaits at Rhythms of Resistance! A night of queer joy, creativity, and connection in all its beautiful forms. It’s gonna be joyous, it’s gonna have soul. So come join us! Because community is power and dancing together is an act of resistance < 33

Belly dancing class with Lina

This is going to be so much fun and absolutely no experience necessary 

Whimsical bunting sesh with @shika.otalu

In the first couple hours we’ll be co-creating a whimsical hanging piece to join us later to decorate the dancefloor ! Materials provided, but you’re invited to bring along your own scraps of fabric or charms to personalise your addition to the piece:) 

Banner making with Rainbow Migration

Rainbow Migration will be joining us to co-create a community banner that we can carry to Pride (& beyond) to shout about queer refugee rights! Bold, arty & joyfully made, come add your stamp :) 

It’s an eclectic mix and there’s even MORE to be announced soon!

And after all of that, there’s gonna be space to close off the night together. Let’s have tea, a chat, a stretch together - whatever you’re feelin :))

Who are Rainbow Migration? And what is the No Pride in Detention Campaign?

Rainbow Migration supports LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system by providing practical and emotional support to help improve people’s confidence and self-esteem and reduce isolation. They provide specialist legal information and advice, and campaign to improve the treatment of people seeking asylum.

The No Pride in Detention Campaign calls for an end to LGBTQI+ detention and a 28-day time limit for all immigration detention.
