The People's Comedy: Rosa Parks, civil disobedience at The Red Lion BS5

A event on Thursday 1st December. The event starts at 20:00.

The People's Comedy (Nominated for best UK themed night in 2020)

The People's Comedy returns to the Red Lion for a night of laughter, ethical comedy where acts are paid and reasonable chaos.

The night will take place on the same day that Rosa Parks rejected a bus driver's order to vacate bus seating for a white passenger, in the most venerable of civilly disobedient acts.
Parks' subsequent arrest on December 1, in the same year of 1955 led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which in-turn led to a United States Supreme Court decision declaring the Alabama and Montgomery laws that segregated buses are unconstitutional.
It will be an honour to commemorate her and the power of civil disobedience, through socially conscious comedy - hope to see you there
