Tyme Tunnel W/ Leisure Weapons at The Red Lion, Whitehall

A gig on Saturday 12th December. The event starts at 20:00.

Join us at The Red Lion on Saturday 12th December for the The Tyme Tunnel, where DJs will be bringing you a vinyl only night of 60s/70s psych, freakbeat and acid rock. Joining Tyme Tunnel's debut at The Red Lion are electro-grungers Leisure Weapons!

It's difficult to describe Leisure Weapons so we'll let their bio do the talking...

"3 vegan feminist males led by 1 meat eating woman, Leisure Weapons formed in 2013 after a dubious start behind the Iceland supermarket.

Based in Bristol, a mutual friend invited them to start a Soul covers act under the proviso of making some cash from weddings, however after playing one politically questionable gig to a few old men in a car park they began to wonder what the hell they were doing.

One gig later in a burnt out, squatted church they ran out of material and turned to improv. Playing until the generator ran dry it was clear that there was more to the group than rehashing a load of old tunes, and so they got a grip and began to write some original material.

The founding member left to pursue her solo career and a Welsh wizard baptised them with their name.

Since their conception the band have become a 4 piece consisting of Jason Cook on Drums, Dan Thornton on Bass/synth, Mike Crabtree on guitar and Delyth Roberts on Vox/effects.

They have written their first set of original material, played numerous gigs and released their debut album last year, which was recorded at Maverick Studios, Bristol by Roger Davenport.

Del, Dan, Mikey and Jason are currently working on new material and continuing to take inspiration from their weird world. "

This will be there first gig for a while after a hiatus to work on some new material - which we are lead to believe will make up the bulk of their set! Oh, and it's FREE!
