On Dec 5th, two of Europe’s most foremost champions of early jazz join forces in a rare and unmissable night at The 1904 Arts Club.
Franco-Russian violinist, Daniel Garlitsky, newly entrusted by the Hot Club de France to carry forward the legendary Quintette de Hot Club de France, brings both classical mastery and the improvisational brilliance of Stéphane Grappelli’s lineage. Beside him stands British bandleader, Jack Calloway, whose Midnight Creepers have become one of the most internationally recognised ensembles devoted to the roaring energy of classic hot jazz.
The pair first crossed paths sharing a stage with internationally renowned Tatiana Eva-Marie at the 1904, vowing they must reunite - whether in Paris of back in England. Now, for ONE NIGHT ONLY, Garlitsky returns from Paris at Calloway’s invitation, as the two combine their artistry, fire, and humour in celebration of the timeless swing of Joe Venuti, Benny Goodman, Django Reinhardt and Stephané Grappelli - and the golden age of hot jazz.
