Their annual summer concerts have been showcasing for years the degree of excellence that can be achieved despite being open to all without audition, and all the songs learned entirely by ear. This year’s concert features the usual eclectic mix of songs including popular music from the 1920’s right up to the present decade including The Beatles and Leonard Cohen, songs from Turkey, Bolivia, and the U.S.A. as well as an old English folksong and songs by contemporary writers for community choirs.
People of Note’s music is sometimes rousing, sometimes beautiful, sometimes brilliant, sometimes touching, but always thoroughly entertaining.
“Every year they present an entirely new repertoire of songs of astonishing variety including popular music from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, contemporary choir compositions, and songs from around the world. Audiences are consistently amazed by the quality of performance, and uplifted by the joy and exuberance of the choir.” — St George's website
