Money: top down or bottom up - how to build collective financial power

Money: top down or bottom up - how to build collective financial power at The Spark Space (Bethesda building)

An event on Sunday 4th October. The event starts at 15:00.

Money is the operating system of our society.

If we want a financial system that works for us, we will have to build it pretty much from scratch.

To do that we need a deeper understanding of what money is, and how finance works. This 2 hour, highly participative session will introduce the subject through the lens of history.

The mechanism of our current system appears simple, obvious and fair, but a closer look shows how it is anything but.

Facilitated by Matthew Slater, who has been supporting local money systems for 18 years, and Katja Durrani from the Bristol Commons
