At 3 pm on Sunday 24 February Free Severn Sound, Osram C Toad & Salt Café will be co-hosting a gig by Ben Walker - Musician and Cameron Niven. £6 on the door.
Ben Walker
Ben Walker was recently hailed, by 'Total Guitar' magazine, as 'one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world'. His command of the electric guitar, to which he brings a subtlety and taste that are commonly lacking in the more famous exponents of the instrument, is equally impressive.
He is a versatile producer as well as a celebrated instrumentalist, with six critically acclaimed albums and a BBC Folk Award as a duo with Josienne Clarke and more than fifty records as a producer of other artists. With a reputation for compositional innovation as well as technical accomplishment, his music has been described as 'thoughtful' (Guardian), 'deft' (Telegraph) and even 'legendary' (Morning Star).
Cameron Niven
Cameron has been described (by Alfred Archer of Folk Radio UK) as 'an important talent who most definitely deserves a much wider audience'. His songwriting combines delicate, insistent guitar motifs with a rare vocal and lyrical intensity that makes the listener 'realise the effect music can have on you if it only tries.' (Jon Madge - Cofi Radio/Laissez-Faire).
