Black & Creative : Poetry Open Mic Night at The Square Club, Clifton
See event details

A event on Wednesday 18th March. The event starts at 18:00.

Rooted Spaces, is a growing poetry & creative community, curating intentional spaces, community & events for Black & Global majority poets, creatives, & artists in Bristol & the Southwest, to come together, inspire, connect, showcase & bloom. Weaving creativity, joy, faith, and rest into a space that nurtures talent, builds visibility & creates opportunity amongst ourselves. More than anything, it is a community by and for creatives with shared and diverse lived experience to come together intimately, intentionally, and take up space in a creative industry where often none is given to us. More than just an event, this is an invitation to just 'be', without fear, without performance, without expectation, grounded in joy, care and intimacy. This is a step into courage, INside of comfort by giving yourself permission to be visible, share your poetry and creativity, be inspired by others, and build with a community and network of support that can champion you, challenge you and build up your craft, confidence, and creative through doing. The open mic sign up list will be available on the night from 5:30 for anyone to sign up. Please contact Beatrice Anomah (via LinkedIn or email: [email protected]) if you would like to sign up in advance of the night.
