Big Bass Business in a Badass Bristol Boozer: on Thursday July 3 we'll be celebrating three years of 1 More Thing AND the release of Quentin Hiatus's new album Royal Notes Mixtape!
We're heading to a truly legendary Bristol spot for the occasion: The Star & Garter pub, an historic St Pauls venue absolutely steeped in the city's culture.
To mark the moment we've fused a line-up that the UK has never ever seen before!
Quentin Hiatus
Lakeway B2B Fireworks Factory
Scartip & NoDave
DAR C B2B SEF B2B POP:P with MC Fabzii
C-DU
Dehga
This is massively massive. If you know about Quentin then you'll already be making sure you've got July 3 free. A consistent source of truly unique and forward-thinking beats that sit somewhere between footwork, jungle, soul and Detroit techno, Quentin has been doing bits for many years on a wide varity of labels including the likes of RAM Records, Goldfat and Spearhead. During this time, though, he's never played in the UK. Until now. And he's bringing fellow Arizona action man Dehga with him, too. Yet another debut set that's NEVER happened on UK shores before.
Benchmark set: the rest of the line-up is equally bold, forward-thinking and fresh. Turbo bass misfits Lakeway and Fireworks Factory will be going back to back for the very first time.
1 More Thing bossman NoDave and his bestie-from Scartip will be opening up the show with a dub, roots and reggae showcase that pays homage to Bristol's deep soundsystem culture.
PLUS we'll be linking up with close kindred spirit crews for this one. RunDaRiddim Records and Yamatai Records are both present for the night and will be hosting takeovers.
RunDaRiddim are bring the new gen jungle energy with DAR C, SEF, POP:P and MC Fabzii while Yamatai will be boosting us into the future with an ice cold D&B session from super on-point local duo C-DU.
Did someone just say 'oh gosh?'
Thursday night vibes, too... So it won't affect any festival plans you have that weekend and is the perfect palette cleanser for everyone recovering from Glastonbury. We promise a cosy evening of enchanting beats, bass and cosmic transmissions.
