International movement against war - on tour

International movement against war - on tour at The Station

An event held at The Station on Saturday 24th October. The event starts at 14:00.

On Saturday 24 October at 2pm European activists are joining leading UK figures to bring eyewitness accounts of a growing revolt to Bristol.

Action is spreading across Europe. Belgian students have followed their French counterparts into the streets over the state of schools and universities, Spanish housing protests have caused a political crisis and have sparked similar action in Portugal. Links are increasingly being made between these austerity measures and military spending.

Dockers are preparing an international strike against arming Israel on 30 October and students are preparing a global day of action against conscription on 20 November.

Come and hear from those on the ground and discuss how to build the welfare not warfare movement in Britain.

The Bristol rally will be held at the Station, Silver Street, BS1 2AG.

Speakers include:

Jérôme Legavre, French MP, LFI Peter Mertens, Belgian Workers' Party
Yasmine Adam, MAB
Narzanin Massoumi, British Iranian academic Alex Gordon, RMT
John Rees, Stop the War
