In this course we will work with: Oya – energy and transformation Yemaya – mother of the seas Oshun – mother of rivers and fresh waters Arará (Babalu Aye) – healing and grounding Each class will focus on fundamental steps, body movement and technique, helping dancers understand the importance of Afro-Cuban dance as a foundation for Cuban and Latin social styles. In the second part of every class, we will apply this movement to traditional Cuban social dances such as Son Cubano, Chachachá and others, blending Afro-Cuban roots with social dance, and also exploring contemporary technique and basic classical dance concepts.
