LORD DUBS DJ / Selector, born Howard Purse, has been involved in the Bristol music scene as a musician and DJ for many years. Back in the day he was a near resident of the famous/infamous 'DUG OUT CLUB' and formed punk/funk outfit ‘ANIMAL MAGIC’ who scored two BBC sessions for JOHN PEEL and one for DAVID the 'Kid’ JENSON and set the dance floor alight with their two indie hits 'Get it Right'and 'Standard Man'. After the inevitable musical differences Howard moved on to work with poet ANDY FAIRLEY and then to form ‘CAKE’ fronted by ex ‘FLATMATES’ vocalist Debra Haynes. (Album 'Blue Powder' now available from Bristol Archive Records).
All of this time LORD DUBS had been building a record collection containing the finest soul, funk, rock, pop and (his great love) 70's Reggae ever pressed onto vinyl. He now gigs these gems regularly in pubs, clubs, parties and festivals to the delight of audiences.
