The Halt Harassment project was initiated by Ngaio Anyia in 2018 as part of her inclusion role at Artspace Lifespace.
Halt Harassment is concerned with tackling harassment in all forms that takes place in the night time sector. The project has addressed both highlighting the level of harassment that takes place but also methods in which a disparate group of venues, promoters and service providers can align to tackle the issue in the moment it is occurring.
During this period through a process of industry meetings, conversations were developed into guiding principles. With the pandemic and the forced closure of the sector this work was paused. Now that reopening is in sight, the work has begun again and our forthcoming exhibition highlights the work that has been achieved to date.
Six micro bursaries were awarded by Artspace Lifespace to previous contributors to the Halt Harassment project in March 2021 to coincide with the planned reopening of nightclubs and music venues in June 2021.
This exhibition was supported by the Arts Council Cultural Recovery Fund.
The Vestibules are two former entrances located at either end of City Hall. The venues, opened by Marvin Rees (Mayor of Bristol), aims to showcase Bristol talent and give cultural and community groups unique environments to display work.

Deanery Road Vestibule is situated at the Deanery Road end of City Hall looking out across the fountains and College Green neighbouring Bristol Cathedral and Bristol Library.
Visitors must wear a mask whilst in The Vestibules. One ticket can allow a bubble of up to six people at one time. No more than six people can attend under 1 ticket. You will be required to leave your details via the NHS test and trace app or in person at the event. There are no toilets available at The Vestibules.
