Edd Hedges & The Death Hilarious at The Wardrobe Theatre

A event held at The Wardrobe Theatre on Friday 2nd February. The event starts at 21:45pm.

EDD HEDGES
At only 23, Edd Hedges has an incredibly endearing stage presence and a natural affinity with an audience making him appear older and wiser than his years. Since winning So You Think You’re Funny in 2013 he has also been a runner-up in subsequent finals of Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year and Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year and featured in Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Edd was also chosen by Sofie Hagen to be her support for a recent UK tour.

‘Edd Hedges is a joy to watch.’ The Scotsman
‘Supremely affable style.’ Chortle
'A tough act to follow’ Bruce Dessau

THE DEATH HILARIOUS
Welsh, working-class firebrands The Death Hilarious are a sketch-centric comedy duo cut from the same rag as The League Of Gentlemen and The Mighty Boosh, parading a coterie of crazed characters such as Creole exorcists, apelike weirdos and a homemade sex robot. Variously described as immersive, horrifying and joyous, The Death Hilarious mix satire and the utterly puerile with no thought for their own safety.

They never sleep, these boys. They are dancing, dancing. They say that they will never die.

“Immersive and brilliant comedy…amongst the funniest double acts I’ve ever seen” Bristol Post

ROB COOPER
Also on the bill is up-and-comer Rob Cooper, whose unique brand of pithy one-liners saw him reach the semi-finals of two prestigious new act competions – So You Think You’re Funny? and the Chortle Student Comedy Award.

GEORGE RIGDEN
Your host for the evening is the inimitable George Rigden, a local boy who is currently taking the UK circuit by storm with his mix of wry observations and snappy comic songs.

“Rigden is the result of a genetic mash-up between Mitch Benn and Tim Key, perhaps with a few strands of Ricky Gervais’s DNA thrown
in…very funny stuff” Steve Bennett, Chortle
