Cinebra: Glenda & Rita at The Wardrobe Theatre
Event Cancelled

A event held at The Wardrobe Theatre on Saturday 7th March. The event starts at 19:30.

From the creators of a certain adorkable duo Sophie and Megan in A History Of Horror, Alexander Joseph and Ro Robertson aka Cinebra venture from those who love movies, to those are in movies, or at least used to be. Glenda Swing and Rita Herringbone are two actresses hailed from the golden era of cinema, immortalised in black and white, both struggling to get work in this brutal and unforgiving technicolour world. From their Hollywood hey-day to their miserable flat in Lancing, the pair have come together to make it big in theatre and vaudeville, to tell the world their stories.

Cinebra have created a multimedia experience combining live music, theatre and comedy, and classic Hollywood cinema. This project stands out against the ever-growing new wave of drag talent in the UK and pushes the art form into a theatre platform. Through their character work as Sophie & Megan, and now Glenda & Rita, as well as collaborating with other actors, Joseph and Robertson bring a contemporary style of drag performance to a wider audience supported with intellect, context, humour and heart.

“A marvellously anarchic romp.”

“These are broad, but somehow believable, characters with great lines who have a story to tell.”
