FutureQueer at The Wardrobe Theatre
£12 - See event details

A event held at The Wardrobe Theatre on Wednesday 2nd July. The event starts at 19:30.

It’s 2073… and the whole world is queer. Voguing and lip syncing are categories in the Olympics. There is a statue of George Michael on Hampstead Heath. And Starbucks own Pride (boo!). Forty-eight years ago, in 1977, setting out to create the sound of the future, Donna Summer recorded queer anthem ‘I Feel Love’. But what will life REALLY be like for queer people in 2073, forty-eight years from now?

Armed with a vintage Donna Summer vinyl, playwright and performer Alexis Gregory decides to find out. FutureQueer is part theatre, stand-up comedy, DIY queer lecture pop-culture commentary, and meditation on disco music as a metaphor for queer survival. Basically….this show is camp AF. It’s also funny, moving, hard hitting, irreverent, provocative, and a very queer romp through an imagined LGBT+ future.
