Lingui – The Sacred Bonds at The Watershed
See event details for ticket registration

A event held at Watershed on Sunday 14th November. The event starts at 17:00.

Lingui, The Sacred Bonds is a riveting and meditative drama that celebrates the way female bonds offer many a life raft when drowning in the sea of patriarchy.

It explores the unforgiving laws which women must often navigate within their own country.

We follow Amina and her daughter Maria as they journey across a minefield of topics ranging from abortion to faith, and female circumcision.

Haroun shows that even those living within the secure confines of society, such as Amina’s own sister, are not free from the often brutal realities of patriarchy.

This screening will be followed by a Q&A curated by Afrika Eye.

Tickets: £5.00/£8.50
