Events on Thursday 28th November
“This event comes at a time when rough sleeping is rising across the UK. In Bristol, 1000 people faced street homelessness last year - up by nearly a quarter from the year before. Homeless deaths in this city are now the third highest out of any city in the UK. Meanwhile, Bristol City Council has pledged to “halve rough sleeping by 2022 and eradicate it by 2027″. What are the real causes of homelessness? How can we end this crisis?”

“These impartial, non-selective hustings for the December 2019 General Election are organised by Extinction Rebellion Bristol in conjunction with Friends of the Earth and Bristol Youth Strike 4 Climate. They are an opportunity for voters in Bristol to question their prospective parliamentary candidates on where they and their party stand in relation to the climate and ecological emergency that we are all subject to. All candidates have been invited. Those that choose not to participate will be represented by an empty chair on stage.”

“Steel Is Real but Carbon Is Quicker is a Bristol-produced documentary that looks at the grass roots and pioneers from which the vibrant and fast-growing British cycling scene has sprung. It celebrates the heroes who took to the road and proved that it was paved with British grit. The film features people like Colin Sturgess, the individual professional pursuit champion at the world championships in 1989; Sean Yates, winner of a Tour de France time-trial stage in 1988 and one of the early architects of Team Sky; and Phil and Grant Bayton, a father and son cycling dynasty.”

“We thought we’d do something a little different this time round. We had such a great time with you at Asylum for our last event that we’ve decided to host a social down at
To The Moon this November and open up the floor to YOU!”

“Away with the Clowns new one-man show targets the subject of homelessness. Interactions and conversations with the growing numbers of homeless people across the country were the motivation behind the show - and the aim is to spread awareness and encourage empathy for those in dire straits. Homelessness is an on-going and worsening issue that is regularly addressed with negativity by the general public - Away with the Clowns hope to change the narrative and general opinion of homelessness so that people can find compassion for those struggling like Fred.”
