ALEXANDER ROBOTNICK

One of the godfathers of the Italo-disco sound that has gone on to influence the likes of Desyn Masiello, Serge Santiago, LCD Soundsystem and a whole host of the current crop of dance music stars, and has been knocking out stunning pieces of electro, techno and disco for over 25 years now

Alexander Robotnick aka Maurizio Dami is an Italian music producer. This sentence is a gross simplification of a lifetimes work that leads to an artist becoming more than just current, but rather, legendary status. His bio & discography is a lengthy one that reads like a who's who of Electronic music, fashion and film. Early collaborations with Daniele Trambusti, Stefano Fuochi and Materiali Sonori brought him to the attention of the music scene after his departure from his band Avid but it was his release"Probl mes d'amour" that gained him breakthrough notoriety.

The decades that followed have seen him delve into different avenues; from ambient music for fashion designers such as Pitti Immagine, Prato Expo, Capucci & Missoni, to laying the film soundtracks for some of Italy's finest directors - Alessandro Benvenuti, Antonio Climati, Marco Mattolini and Marco Risi.

Now owner of Hot Elephant Music, he continues to cultivate a name for himself DJing the globe while still finding time for collaborations with some of Dance music's contemporary masters...such as the Hacker and Max Durante. With sounds that encompass the musical journey he has clearly travelled over the years - disco, electro, house, techno...bringing together elements of experience new & old, the blend is fresh. Hard to replicate, and not to be outdone...Mr. Robotnick is a name synonymous with the phrase, rare.

ALEX SMOKE (Soma/Hum+Haw)

Alex Smoke is a Scottish talent making electronic records that blur together European minimalism, pop structures and emotional strings and pads. He has released two full length albums, 'Incommunicado' and'Paradolia' [Soma Records] and a slew of singles and remixes, many of which have arrived on Soma and German label Vakant.

Smoke both performs live and DJs, and his agenda as a spinner is perhaps well represented by'Sci-Fi-Hi-Fi Vol. 3' from 2006. His debut DJ mix combined a fascination with dub techno, classic Detroit (Smoke is not averse to playing old records at all) and new European minimal techno.
