James Rial & Richard Burkinshaw a.k.a Audiojack are the Leeds based DJs, producers and label owners who, 10 years after a chance meeting in Ibiza brought them together, are making big waves with original productions and remixes for labels such as 20:20 Vision, Leftroom, Get Physical, Diynamic and their own rapidly expanding Gruuv imprint.
Whilst it was their robotic techno sound synomous with tracks such as'Robot' that filled the dance floors in their early years, subsequently launching them onto the international stage, it's their current deeper and housier style which has thrust them back into the spotlight, reaffirming their ability to produce groovy underground music across the genres whilst maintaining their own strong signature sound.
Tracks such as"Get Serious", "Polka Dot Dress" and most recently"Polycrom", together with remixes the likes of Ante Perry's"Hit the Floor" & Stefano Tropeano's"Tigris" have launched them to the top end of the beatport Deep House, Tech and Overall charts on numerous occassions, where they have remained a regular fixture.
As DJs, the boys have toured in over 50 countries, taking in some of the world's best venues and events including Space (Ibiza), Fabric (London), Watergate (Berlin), D-Edge (Sao Paulo), Ageha (Tokyo), Circo Loco (Sydney), Avalon (Los Angeles), Sankey's (Manchester), Fabrik (Madrid), Zouk (Singapore) and of course Basics (Leeds), to name just a few. Festival appearances have included the massive Fuji Rock Festival in Japan and the Chemical Music Festival in Rio de Janeiro.
Furthermore, the boys ambition to launch their own imprint was realised in 2010 with the with the inception of'Gruuv', established as a social hub to nurture and develop upcoming talents, promote established artists, provide an occasional release portal for some of their own material, share ideas and showcase high quality electronic music...
Joining the boys in the main room this evening are EQ residents LUKE LANGSON and SIMON SMITH, whilst ROOM 2 once again features musical variation of the very highest standard with local resident ALEX CLARK being joined by Bristol favourites GUS YOUNG & RICH DOLBY, and an EQ debut by the exceptionally gifted DJ & Producer DUNCAN CRANE.
Doors open at 11pm sharp, with the night running through until 5am. We're expecting yet another huge turnout people, and so with limited capacity, we would encourage you to arrive as early as possible to avoid disappointment...
