CLUB
WARS
It is a period of clubbing war.
Rebel WERKers, striking from a hidden base, have
won their first victory against the evil Generic
Empire.
During the battle, the rebel
night WERK managed to learn the
secret to overcoming what will
prove to be the Empire's
ultimate downfall,
COMPLACENCY.
Constantly pursued by the Empire's
sinister agents, WERK leads the race,
as custodians of the secret plans
that can save Bristol's nightlife
and restore faith in the clubbers .
May the 4th be with you .
*** WERK presents Giom, also ft. Adam Kent - Saturday May the 4th, Timbuk2, Bristol ***
Not being modest or anything but April was frickin' amazing! As always it's you guys that make it so special - We're just a bunch of clubbers that wanna see you have a good time, and you did just that!
You can probably guess that we are going for a bit of a theme this month? Well 1st Saturday of this month happens to fall on May 4th - We'd be a bit daft not to!
So grab your finest Star Wars fancy dress (or cover yourself in tin foil and pretend to be CP30) and get ready to duel with your light sabers* as we present another exclusive line-up of interstellar DJ's prepared to completely obliterate the evil force of the generic empire!
Our highly esteemed guest this month is none other than GIOM! A rapidly rising star on the circuit - In a short space of time Giom has become one of the most sought after producers, remixers and DJs in the deep house and tech scene. His own brand of quirky eclectic house music is constantly found at the top of download charts and in DJ sets from the jet-setting elite to bedroom jocks the world over!
We are proud to be bringing Giom to WERK to tantalise your ear drums with his underground grooves. Giom is definitely a name to watch if you don't already and he is getting his best dancefloor weapons ready to launch a full-on assault!
Our special supporting guest this month is none other than Adam Kent. This man really needs no introduction as he has pretty much played his unique style of deep house and techno at every venue in Bristol over the years. Having most recently wowed the crowds at Empathy, not to mention his mammoth 5 hour set at the See No Evil block party you know that Adam's performace at WERK is going to be a moment to remember!
As ever WERK are proud to support local talent so we will also be giving MoleHug a chance to shine. MoleHug are a couple of mates, fellow DJ's from Bristol who mix tech, techno, house, minimal and breaks. They have just started in the producing as well. Their own night Dirty Relish has been running for a while now and having heard their mixes we reckon you will love them as much as we do!
(*mini light sabers will be provided but feel free to bring your own as we're sure to run out!)
Plus of course we have the Rebel WERK Forces:

Renny'Yoda' C

Giom Bio:
Giom was born in Niort, France and now lives in London. Originally discovered
by the Chicago Jackin house scene, he started out by playing alongside
legends such as DJ Sneak and Mark Farina. He soon signed his first EP on DJ
Heather's Blackcherry imprint and quickly went on to work with labels
including Large Music, King Street, Save Room Recordings and Defected
Records. He has also remixed artists including Hector Couto, Jay-J and
LawnChair Generals, and collaborated with Riva Starr, Fred Everything and
Nathan G.
In 2011 he released his first mix album Clips & Space for the acclaimed UK
label Lost My Dog. The album saw him highlighted by iDJ Magazine as a
'Rising Star' and headlining London's Fabric for the launch party.
Fabric is a regular booking for Giom, and his energetic sets have led to a
hectic tour schedule which means most weekends he can be found headlining
in clubs from Australia to the United States and back around mainland
Europe.
In 2012 Giom topped Traxsource's top 100 chart for 6 consecutive weeks with
his remix of Hector Couto's Let The Music Play, taking over the top spot from
his own Luv Lust EP with Fred Everything (Large Music).
Away from house music Giom's talents as a professional drummer are also
highly sought after and have seen him tour and record for Alice Russell, The
Adam Kent was born in Durban, South Africa. He started clubbing at the age of 15, going to Plymouth's Scream nights at The Warehouse and was heavily influenced at the time by the likes of Sasha, John Digweed and Carl Cox who all made regular appearances there.
Adam got his first decks shortly afterwards and started playing gigs at Plymouth's Dance Academy, Sound Factory and Conservatory Bar. A move to Bristol for University led to gigs at Cafe Blue, The Rock and Bar Latino. After a brief sabbatical he got back into DJing starting with a monthly podcast on Soundcloud, really pushing that deep, techy, twisted sound he has such a keen ear for. The podcast gets hundreds of listens and great feedback from all over the world every month.
Regular appearances this year with Bristol's legendary Empathy night have seen him playing alongside Darren Emerson, Jamie Anderson, Jody Wisternoff, Quivver, Jim Rivers and most recently Nick Harris on the annual Boat Party. A mammoth 5 hour long set at the See No Evil Block Party had 500 people grooving to Adam's deepest house and techno in the streets of Bristol. Appearing on Bristol's much loved 4th Floor radio show was a recent highlight, with upcoming appearances planned on U.S. and Eastern European radio stations.
Going forward, more gigs are lined up including a much anticipated residency at Empathy.
Mariana is Adam's latest project in conjunction with production maestro Bailey. Designed to be an outlet for their combined love of deep, trippy tech house, the project is suitably named after the deepest ocean trench in the world: Mariana.
