Laienda
Laienda use a range of styles and influences to develop a unique sound. Their music combines the lively energy of Irish Jigs and Reels with that of Klezmer creating rhythms and melodies which are irresistibly dance-able. They also throw in elements of Tango and Flamenco to give their music an extra edge.
Their line up includes Katie Stone-Lonergan who's lyrical style of playing was acquired during her upbringing immersed in the culture of Ireland and developed through classical training at Bath Spa University.
Lead vocalist Nina Bambrey intrigues audiences by singing in a range of languages and adds to the band's captivating stage presence by drawing on her background in dance and circus arts. Vivienne Weller's vivacity on the mandolin adds both lightness and intensity to the sound and displays her broad musical background. Ross Bambrey's creative approach to guitar playing provides the backbone of the band and is strongly complemented by the percussive dynamism of Joseph Medler.
