From the dark, brooding opening of Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto to the deep passion of its second, slow movement, and sweeping expansiveness of the final movement, whether it’s new to you or you already know and love every single note, you’re bound to find this chamber orchestral arrangement by Iain Farrington completely captivating, with soloist Paul Israel joining the Bristol Ensemble. The programme also includes Rachmaninov’s virtuosic and vivacious Symphonic Dances.

Pre-concert talk with Steve Clarke begins at 6.45pm. Doors open at 6.15pm for the talk and at 7.15pm for the concert only.
