““I read that, as a youth she [April Ashley] covered her bedroom walls with pictures of Women and prayed to awaken female, I did the same. What my Father took to be a healthy interest in females was really a desire to be one.””

“Folklore is an ongoing body of work chronicling the mythology and legends found deep in our history. Demonic grimoires, folk traditions and horror stories are brought to life in stark monochrome on canvas and paper, as artist Katie Marland uses her background in natural history illustration to inform the creation of something uncanny, twisting the ordinary into the preternatural.”

“Bring along your sewing projects and work alongside others with expertise on hand to help and give advice. We have several sewing machines you can use and a stash of basic materials. The group’s motto is; make, mend, recycle, repurpose. So, bring any materials with you that you would like to use, or reuse, on the day. Each session there will also be a different project if you are in need of inspiration or want to learn something different.”
