Events on Tuesday 23rd April
“Come along and draw as much or as little as you like, as well or as bad as you fancy. There will be all sorts of equipment and stationary here for you to use - paints, pastels and pencils. Big rolls of paper so you and your buddies can all draw together, sketch books for those of ya who prefer to work alone. We'll have different objects/people/things for you to draw each week and varying types of equipment so one week could be lots of colouring and the next - collages! Also, we're keen to decorate our halls and lobby with any art you guys don't fancy taking home!”

“Music ruined Krol’s life. And then saved it. In chronicling that process, Krol has made 'Power Chords', his best record—painful, voyeuristic, and angry, but ultimately transcendent and timeless. It is the sound of Krol giving in to a force greater than himself, as though the chords are playing him rather than the other way around.”

“Continuing the legacy of Sun Ra one for the most forward thinking and iconic jazz musicians, The Sun Ra Arkestra invite you for a night of interplanetary jazz exploration. In a celebration of band leader and alto saxophonist Marshall Allen's 95th birthday the Arkestra come to Bristol with their “unique, brilliant and legendary” sound (Guardian). Decked out in cosmic costumes the Arkestra play through genres covering not only jazz but blues, honky tonk and sci-fi soundscapes. “There’s something distinctive and moving about the Arkestra’s sound” (The Telegraph) and it will take you from Bristol into the great beyond.”

“The phantom zone, the parallax, the upside down—there is a rich cultural history of exploring in-between places. Through her latest, Titanic Rising (out April 5, 2019 on Sub Pop Records), Weyes Blood (a.k.a. Natalie Mering) has, too, designed her own universe to soulfully navigate life’s mysteries. Maneuvering through a space-time continuum, she intriguingly plays the role of melodic, sometimes melancholic, anthropologist. https://weyesblood.bandcamp.com/”
