Meet the Founder of The Happy Tummy Co. Karen O’ Donoghue. The lady who has successfully managed her symptoms during her lifelong battle with IBS through changes to her diet, including through a special, fermented sort of bread which she formulated 7 years ago.
Through Karen’s products, baking courses and one-one sessions she has supported those with digestive issues by teaching her methods and knowledge on ingredients.
Entertaining, enlightening and educational this is one not to miss!
Karen will also be bringing some of her baked goods for you to munch on throughout the talk.
From an early age Karen was driven to help people into a happier life through the power of good food. This eventually saw her launching The Happy Tummy Co. in 2014 to bring her special bread to the market. Obsessed with the power of food you won’t find Karen delving into the latest “wellness trend” in her activewear! Karen advocates for whole foods made well, preferably slowly whether it be fermented, smoked or soaked. You’re more likely to find Karen hosting a 7 course dinner party with raw cheeses to finish and a bottle of wine paired with every course than you are to find her inside a health food store eying up a turmeric hummus.
Karen’s attitude to food comes from a deep respect for the land as the daughter of two horticulturists and she prefers as little intervention as possible between the time a food is picked to the time it reaches your mouth in keeping your tummy in optimum gut health.
