Simple Things Festival - Daytime at Various

A gig on Saturday 20th October. The event starts at 10:00.

Simple Things Festival returns on 20 October 2018 for an all-day and -night celebration of contemporary live and electronic music, taking place at venues across Bristol city centre.

The daytime bill is topped by Slowdive – one of British guitar music’s most enduring forces, who first came to prominence as pioneers of the shoegaze sound at the turn of the 90s. The band’s 2014 resurrection and 2017 self-titled album reinstated their relevance within contemporary guitar music, and re-positioned them at the forefront of the European live circuit. Their performance at Simple Things will be the band's only headline show in the UK this year.

Other daytime highlights include: the psychedelic, live analogue explorations of James Holden and the Animal Spirits; Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever’s meandering jam rock; Kamaal Williams’ contemporary jazz fusion; and the DIY positive-pop of viral star Jimothy Lacoste.

The rest of the day-time line-up is completed by: Iglooghost, Tirzah, Warmduscher, Dena, Alaskalaska, Great News, Halo Maud, Yassassin, Fontaines DC, Helena Deland, Her’s, Rascalton, Sorry, Wooze, Parrots, Haze, sistertalk, Black Midi, Mellah, Post Animal, Lice and The Mauskovic Dance Band.

Please note that day and night tickets are sold separately. This event page is for the daytime programme only.
