8 Mile Screening + Rap Open Mic at Watershed
£4.50

A event held at Watershed on Saturday 11th June. The event starts at 12:00pm.

Rife Magazine, Tomorrow’s People and Compass Presents bring you a special immersive screening of the Eminem/rap-classic 8 Mile, a film about rap, being trapped, and the boom bap. For the non-rap fans among you, the boom bap? It’s that classic sound. We present a special screening, followed by an open mic hosted by Bristol Grime legend BUGGSY and featuring local wordsmiths (including up-and-comers Twizzy, Teez, Mistafire, Stay Hungry, & First Degree Burns' rapper Sam Baikovitch-Fisher).

Planned, produced and delivered by a group of young people from Bristol, the event will immerse you in the atmosphere of the film and offer you choices that will make you think, sending you home inspired and feeling in control of your destiny. They chose the film because it 'promotes a “never give up” attitude and depicts important issues for young people. This film is a story of family, friendship, hard work and following your dreams. By the end of this film you will feel empowered!’

So come, lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it.
