Speak Little One at Watershed
See event details

A event held at Watershed on Saturday 28th September. The event starts at 13:00.

Self directed by a Rwandan born adoptee raised across France and the UK, Louise brings to the screen the journey of 2 adult adoptees authentically sharing in their own words the moments that have shaped their path to coming home to themselves.

This documentary seeks to break down the uncomfortable and untold narratives society shields itself from and reshapes the story through unfiltered truth-telling of grief, displacement, identity and the unified journey of many adoptees as they come home to themselves. Speak Little One (The World Is Listening) aims to give permission for all adoptees to find their voice through reparenting, nurture and self love affirmations to their younger selves on the quest of unbreakable freedom and joy.

The documentary lasts for 15 mins followed by a 20 minutes Q&A with the Director alongside adoptees Adele and Grace. Afterwards guests will be invited to enjoy lunch and drinks at the Watershed bar for deeper conversations and connection.

This screening is open to all: adoptees, adoptive parents, prospective parents, families, friends, agencies and extended communities.

Please note: the screening and Q&A discussion will explore sensitives themes including grief, mental health, trauma.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
