A event held at Watershed on Today. The event starts at 19:15.
What next for Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone?
The situation in Gaza and the West Bank remains the crisis of our times. The British state continues to back US-Israeli genocide and apartheid in Palestine, and escalating violence in the wider region. We need a solidarity movement that can rise to the moment - building the popular pressure to make our government’s role in this barbarity impossible.
In Bristol, we've been doing exactly that. Since 2024, more than 7,000 households and over a hundred local shops have helped build Europe’s largest community boycott. Bristol’s support for Palestine is clear - but we need to build on it.
BAFZ is calling all volunteers - old and new - to a citywide meeting. We'll assess what BAFZ and the wider solidarity movement has been able to achieve, as well as what it hasn’t, before launching into our next phase: building our local groups into branches of Palestine solidarity, to truly turn the places we live into Apartheid-Free Zones.
Already part of your local group? Come and help take it to the next level.
Don't have a BAFZ group in your area? Come and start one.
BAFZ is about much more than just doorknocking and boycotts, it’s about making solidarity with Palestine a part of everyday life in every part of our city. Come along to get involved in making that happen where you are.
