A
event
on Friday 26th July. The event starts at 19:00.
We always love listening to your poems, short stories and ideas, and as Bristol celebrates its Pride Month we want to join in and open our inclusive and supportive platform.
Want to share your words and stories? Inspired by other recent works or events? Or simply feel like joining in for an evening of fun and celebration in our bookshop? Join us!
This is a special occasion as we'll also be welcoming a group of local illustrators who will be sketching the evening, taking inspiration from the words spoken live- bring the arts together!
We're also supporting OTR (Off The Record Bristol) - a local charity that does fantastic work in support of young people's mental health. Their Freedom Youth Programme provides a safe and supportive space for young people who are LGBTQIA+ or are exploring their gender and identity.
You have the option to donate now and up to the event; donations on the night will also be encouraged. Follow this link to donate: Waterstones Bristol is fundraising for OTR Bristol (justgiving.com)
Whether you're a returning speaker or this is your first open mic, the rules are the same: send us your works at [email protected] and keep your material under 3 minutes to read. If you'd like us to find someone to read on your behalf, let us know.
ALL are welcome- spread the word!
