The Alternative Book Club on World Book Day at Waterstones - Galleries

A event on Thursday 2nd March. The event starts at 19:00.

The Alternative Book Club is coming to Bristol to celebrate World Book Day!

For too long World Book Day has been about adorable kids dressed up as book (and, let's face it, sometimes film) characters; join us this World Book Day to celebrate adorable grown ups dressed up as book characters and to watch brilliant stand up comedy about books.

Prepare to be entertained – and informed – by a phenomenal line up of award-winning comics and brilliant friends who will be dissecting anything Lit: from John Milton’s Paradise Lost to Kim Kardashian’s Selfie, and everything in between. All hosted by your host, Shirley Halse.

We're joined for this special celebration by Ed Patrick (author of Catch Your Breath), Alex Farrow (Director of Comedy Jericho), Eva Bindeman (host of many beloved Bristol gigs including Sidney & Sheden and Scrambled Comedy) and more to be announced...

Dressing up is very much encouraged and the best costume/character will win a book-themed prize.

The Alternative Book Club is recommended for ages 16+.

Doors open at 7pm, show starts 7.30pm.
