on Friday 9th May. The event starts at 19:00.
After Hours is back at We The Curious and this time we're celebrating all things Y2K.
It's adults-only evening where you can explore the 2 floors of the science exhibits, all with a drink in hand and no kids running around.
We're turning 25 this year, so we're kicking off the year by celebrating the Millennium at After Hours.
What to expect:
- Enjoy a nostalgic playlist featuring all the biggest tunes from the turn of the century with DJ Remy.
- Hang out with your mates in a recreation of a teenage bedroom from the late 90s in the Theatre of Curiosity.
- Serve yourself up a classic birthday party treat of ice cream in the Kitchen; just keep your eyes peeled for some unusual toppings…
- Make glow in the dark friendship bracelets and then test them out under the UV lights in their Studio turned 90s rave room.
- Add your favourite song to a mixtape wall in the Tinkering Space.
- Step into the Planetarium for glimpse of the solar system and get a short taster experience of the awe-inspiring visuals.
- Channel your inner Jamie Oliver and chat with researchers in the Lab as you explore how our lunch choices could help the planet.
All this in addition to over 200 interactive exhibits across the venue. Run in a giant hamster well, peer inside the TARDIS, turn yourself invisible and much more.
So grab a drink, dig out your best noughties outfit and be transported back to when life was simpler - when flip-phones were the business, Big Brother was launched, the Millennium Dome was a thing and Britney Spears was topping the charts!
