“She has written on women and experimental film and is co-editor of the Undercut Reader - Critical Writings on Artists’ Film and Video ( Wallflower Press 2002). Danino will frame this screening around the release by LUX of a DVD of her films of the 90s “Stabat Mater”, “Now I am yours” and “The Silence is Baroque”, three rich and beautiful films which centre on spoken and performed vocals and music, plus a soundscape/sound collage about geography and region and memory, "Meteorologies".”

“Shakespeare's bittersweet comedy delights in the mischief and mayhem of blurred genders, crossed boundaries and a world turned upside down – with music at the heart of the revelry. Director Wils Wilson (The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart) saturates this tale of magic and wonder with all the psychedelia and bohemian delight of the 'Summer of Love'.”
From: Twelfth Night

“To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the release of their Mercury nominated self titled platinum selling debut album the band announce their biggest run of live tour dates in five years playing a select run of shows across England & Wales where the band will perform the debut album in its entirety.”

“The Maytals, led by the irrepressible force of nature Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert, formed in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1961. The group would go on to bring the reggae sound to the masses with pioneering hits such as ‘Do The Reggay’ (widely acknowledged as the first song ever to feature the word ‘reggae’), ‘Pressure Drop’, ‘54-46 (That's My Number)’, ‘Sweet and Dandy’, ‘Monkey Man’, ‘Funky Kingston’ and ‘Reggae Got Soul’.”
From: Toots and The Maytals

“Across six decades, ‘Toots’ raw, gospel-infused vocals and life-affirming music has influenced countless artists, including The Specials, The Clash and Amy Winehouse, and has toured with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews, Sheryl Crow and Los Lonely Boys.”
