Gentle Yoga & Sound Bath at WildGoose Space, The Yard, Ashley Vale, St Weburghs, Bristol, BS29YP

A event on Saturday 20th June. The event starts at 13:30.

The first part of the session will be guided by Sasha, who will create a gentle space for some slow-flow/restorative yoga, allowing you to decompress, soften into the body and land before softly shifting into a moment of restful stillness to soak up the soundscape.

The yoga will be gentle and accessible for all, everything is optional. If your body is calling for it, you're welcome to even lie down, let yourself rest and recharge for the entire session.

The second part of our session will ease in to an immersive sound bath with Tibetan singing bowls, hosted by Amber.

This is your invitation to just be, letting the sounds wash over you. Amber will guide you with a spoken meditation and then create an immersive soundscape with the amazing instruments to help you repair and restore.

Each session is different, and the bowls create a wide variety of sounds that vibrate through the room. A lot of people find they can access a flow state or theta state where they are in a sound bath, this is a deeply meditative and relaxed state of consciousness similar to when the body repairs during sleep. Sound baths can also help improve sleep quality, reduce stress, increase creativity and support general wellbeing.

What to expect from the session:
Please arrive 5mins early or on time if you can, so we can get the most of our session (if you arrive before this we’ll probably still be setting up!).

Amber will usually be situated in one place but may move around a bit with the bowls to give everyone a more immersive experience. We will end with time to transition into the rest of our day gently.
This is a small intimate event with usually 5-20 participants.

Usually we lie on yoga mats on the floor, finding a restful position, but you are welcome to do whatever is more accessible for you throughout our event. Sitting, or moving around is also welcome. Please get in touch if you are in need of any assistance.

Equipment:
All the usual yoga studio mats, props and blankets are provided but please feel welcome to bring anything that will help you feel more comfortable and fully supported so that you are able to relax more into the space. Dress cosy and wear warm socks as your body temperature can really drop from being still during the session.

Health concerns:
Generally it's really safe and non-invasive to attend a sound bath, but in certain circumstances, sound healing can cause contraindications. Please don't attend if you are in the first or third trimester of pregnancy, have sound related epilepsy, current major wounds, or metallic implants in your body. In the case of pacemakers, small metallic implants, blood clots, and other major health concerns we ask that you get permission from a doctor before attending.

If you have any uncertainty about whether it’s right for you, please consult a doctor prior to attending a session. By purchasing a ticket you take full responsibility.

You attend at your own discretion and always have the option to leave if you find the sound to be uncomfortable or causing pain.

Sound baths can be beautifully healing and help us release emotionally. Each session is different so sometimes you may experience a deep sense of calm, or moving through something more challenging. The session is held gently and you will have time to integrate and transition gently into the rest of your day.
