A event on Sunday 14th June. The event starts at 10:30.
A fun, low-pressure workshop for people interested in stand-up comedy or simply improving their confidence and public speaking skills. Led by Amy Mason at Windmill Hill Community Centre, Vivian Street, BS3 4LW.
We'll discuss stage presence, persona, and do some writing exercises as well as practice speaking in front of the group on a mic and on a small stage (for those who want to). We'll also touch on the local stand-up scene, online comedy, and even writing for TV.
The pace is supportive and gentle and there’s no pressure to perform if you don’t feel ready.
The space is wheelchair accessible. There is a corner shop nearby though ltd lunch options - so please bring lunch along. There is a kitchen where we can make hot drinks and you can heat up food.
The course is run by experienced comedian, writer and tutor Amy Mason, Chortle Breakthrough Act nominee (Free Mason , Behold!)
Amy’s most recent show was one of the best reviewed of Edinburgh Fringe (British Comedy Guide) and her tv projects have been in development with BBC Studios, Clerkenwell and Hat Trick.
