Join us for an evening of Bharatanatyam repertoire!
Bharatanatyam is one of the most dynamic and internationally popular classical dance styles of India. Combining abstract movement with rhythmic patterns and spectacular footwork, the NRITTA (pure dance) aspect of Bharatanatyam showcases the beauty and energy of this art form. The ABHINAYA (expressional) element of Bharatanatyam involves a sophisticated vocabulary of the eyes, body, facial expression and hand gestures to reach out to audiences in storytelling.
Margam takes us through a traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire of dance and drama.
All proceeds from Margam go towards costs for the May 2019 volunteer trip with the dental charity Bridge2Aid, which delivers training to equip local healthcare workers to provide access to safe, emergency dental care for over 5 million people in Tanzania (www.bridge2aid.org).
