Following the Bristol Women’s Voice event at City Hall 10pm-5pm on Saturday 11th March celebrating International Women’s Day, all will be welcomed to an evening at Wiper And True Taproom (Old Market). The lineup includes a live performance from KALA CHNG, spoken word from Subitha plus DJ sets from LEXXI (Peachin’), Nohelia and Kofo.


KALA CHNG (Live performance)
KALA CHNG is a half-Chinese British Pop music artist from Knowle West, Bristol, UK. As songwriter, singer and producer she creates an original blend of Pop music with Chinese sounds and urban influences (influenced by Bristol bass, grime and dubstep beats, classical Chinese instruments, catchy pop lines, and R&B). “She combines both traditional and electronic sounds to create some quite distinctive pop…Kala always makes sure her unique attitude shines through.” Loki Lillistone, Editor, Bristol Live Magazine

Subitha (Spoken word performance)
Subitha Baghirathan is a Sri Lankan who whole-heartedly made Bristol her home in
1999. She became a published author through local independent publisher, Tangent
Books, in 2012. “The Colours of Sand” is a memoir of her 2 ½ years living in Saudi Arabia with her family. She has now returned to writing poetry, as a way of exploring motherhood, becoming a practising Buddhist and living as a feminist Woman of Colour.
