Formed from the imagination of Arthur A. Jarrett, who began his musical journey with C86 Garage-Indie-Pop band THE GROOVE FARM, who signed to SUBWAY RECORDS and had independent chart hits with 2 minute buzz-saw pop songs such as ‘Surfin’ Into Your Heart’…
Later evolving into BEATNIK FILMSTARS who signed to MERGE records in the US, Recorded FIVE sessions for JOHN PEEL and made over ten full length albums, and toured the world, often sharing stages with bands such as BLUR, FLAMING LIPS, SUPERCHUNK and THE WEDDING PRESENT.
The band were known for their love of cheaply recorded records and were slotted neatly into the growing 90's ‘LO-FI’ scene. (Guided By Voices, Pavement)
Despite the quality of the recordings, the band always had the knack of writing killer pop tunes, and live, were a pop blast of noise and excitement.
Now back with The Total Rejection, and playing Garage-Psych-Pop (Think: The Seeds, 13th Floor Elevators, The Sonics mixed with 60’s beat and Mod sounds :Small Faces, Kinks, a hit of drone: Spacemen 3, Loop, And a dash of Indie-Fuzz : JAMC, Stereolab, Shop Assistants.)
The group have just released their first album ‘Wrapping Yourself In Silver Foil Won’t Save You From The Blast’ (RAVING POP BLAST! RECORDS) which is already receiving critical acclaim and radio air-play.
This will be their first live performance.
MILKY WIMPSHAKE from Newcastle, and play sonic driven indie power pop! and have released lots of fab records on lables such as Fortuna Pop!
JONNY KINKAID will be doing fuzzed lo-fi folk and playing songs from his many albums released on Raving Pop Blast, Enviromental Studies, Breaking Down.
Plus RED DUST DJ's playing a mixed bag of anything they consider to be worth playing!
