“The legendary pianist Horace Silver passed away in June this year, so we're honoured to present Silverado as a tribute. Silver's music is full of blues and soul, and he wrote many tunes with funk and latin influences. Some of his tunes are really simple but always effective, some are harmonically extremely challenging for the players but still maintain that bluesy feeling. Silverado mainly plays fresh arrangements of tunes transcribed from the recordings rather than the commonly played Silver tunes available in the Real Books. Andy Hague - trumpet, Kevin Figes - alto sax, Ben Waghorn - tenor sax, Jim Blomfield - piano, Greg Cordez - bass and Mark Whitlam - drums.”

“Wasabi is a 9 piece instrumental jazz-funk band. It comprises 4 horns and 5 piece rhythm, with a heavy emphasis on funktastic horn lines played over super tight heavy grooves, punctuated with wild solos from across the band. The material is a mix of arrangements and originals, in a similar vein to bands like Soulive, Snarky Puppy, ElectroDeluxe and Lettuce.”

“Immigrant Swing offers its own blend of Bristol Riot Swing, a high energy, foot stomping, acoustic music merging sounds from around the globe, with influences ranging from Gypsy Jazz & Blues to Mediterranean Folk & Hip Hop. A Swinging rhythm section - driven by the Balkanic sounds of the Tuba, Manouche Guitar rhythms and Drums- provides the foundations for MCspokeMao to deliver his own style of beat-poetry, with Clarinet & Flute ripping through the melodic lines. Be prepared for anything and make sure to bring along your dancing shoes!”

“Alright you shit kickers...it's The Hook'Em Boys comeback special! After two years kicking back and whittling in the tractor pool, the degenerate hillbillies are back for two special nights of rockabilly/country madness at The Bristol FRINGE Cafe-Bar. Nobody does it quite like these cracker asses so get your ass up there and squeeeel.....bitch.”
