Do.see.sound at The Golden Lion

A gig held at The Golden Lion on Thursday 31st May. The event starts at 20:00.

do.see.sound is everything you like about new things. We'll try and show you the best in electric interesting and acoustic oddities; we'll bring music, film and interactive media together in a jumbly night featuring potential surprise gameshows, special prizes for you by our guests, and a promise that you probably haven't seen anything like these things before (unless you have, in which case, sorry.) And our live choir will have a new original song for you too!

The night excitingly combines the beautifully frightening memoryscapes of London-based outfit Sleeps in Oysters and the journeying electronic Fourtet-esque live choir-fusing awesomeness of Jilk, along with songs from the blinding Unbelievable Choir, a homemade pot of goodies on offer to the winner of our gameshow Musical Stupid Time and two exciting visual treats! Preluded by a Do.See.Sound workshop at 7.30pm. Details soon.

JILK:

Bristol based, but Midland born Jilk fuses a bewildering collage of home-found sounds with the ambient soundscapes of washy synths, insect-like clicks & cuts and epically heartwrenching sequences that prompt quivering lips and gaping mouth simultaneously. Excitingly joined by texturific violinist Yellow Feenix (Caroline Diep), hyperblur drummer Crawfish McSlab (Paul MacMahon), an emotibow cello and the Unbelievable Choir, the Jilk sound promises to be epic like a supernova to the nuts.

Sleeps in Oysters:

Sleeps in Oysters make music and other things. Around, over, under and through electronic pop music that Clash magazine called equal parts warm, frightening, articulate and above all, beautiful, this London-based duo have built a multidisciplinary world encompassing installation, collaborative video work, textiles and digital design.

Also we will be showing an exclusive film starring Anthony Head of The Iron Lady and Buffy fame directed by local director Dan Gitsham.

EXCITONZ!
