A workshop for writers interested in performing with musicians. We will explore tone, pace, performance styles, collaboration, shared language and improvisation. Come along to take part in playful and provocative performance activities. Please bring a piece of writing that is finished and that you know well. Come with an open mind and a willingness to take a risk or two. This is for poets with some experience of performance. Led by Chris Redmond and Riaan Vosloo.

Chris Redmond is a poet, musician, producer and founder/artistic director of Tongue Fu. The show has toured from London's Roundhouse to Romania to Rio to Cape Town, collaborating with a range of artists including Kae Tempest, Irvine Welsh and Akala. As an educator, Chris leads workshops in writing, performing and musicianship for organisations such as the British Council, BBC, BAC, First Story, the Roundhouse and St Mary’s University, London.

Riaan Vosloo is co-founder and bass player/music producer of Tongue Fu. As a bass player and arranger he has worked with Nostalgia 77, Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum and The Last Poets. As an educator Riaan is Course Leader on the MA in Popular Music Practice at BIMM Bristol, having taught at Birmingham and Leeds Conservatoires. He teaches performance, composition, improvisation and cultural theory.
