SISANDA at 6 O'clock Gin At The Glassboat
Free Entry

A gig on Friday 14th November. The event starts at 18:30.

South African-born vocalist Sisanda weaves Jazz, R&B, and Afro-fusion with the storytelling tradition of her Xhosa heritage. Great granddaughter of choral composer BB Myataza, she is more than a singer, she is a vessel for memory—each note layered with history.

Winner of the ESP Young Legends Award at the Cape Town Jazz Festival 2017, she has shared stages with artists like Kamasi Washington and Laura Mvula, and performed at leading festivals including Trans Musicales (France) 2019 and Eurosonic (Netherlands) 2022 with her band Songø. Singing in Xhosa, English, and French, Sisanda’s music carries memory and spirit while pushing boldly into the future.
