Scoring Warnings

How do our senses help us find poetry in moments of uncertainty and urgency? Part of a weekender exploring touch, multisensoriality and rhythm in our universe of warnings, this concert will featuring new collaborative commissions from Dali de Saint Paul, Valentina Magaletti, Aura Satz and Holly Thomas.

Bristol-based raw vocalist Dali De Saint Paul has been experimenting since 2012. Her approach blurs sonic lines between voice and instrument and destabilises spatial and linguistic borders.

Valentina Magaletti is a queer drummer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and curator who treats percussion as a political and poetic instrument—an unruly body that refuses straight lines, fixed identities, and normative rhythms. Her work dismantles the boundaries between noise, ritual, and music, transforming ceramics, found objects, and skin-based textures into tools for resistance and queer world-building.

Aura Satz's practice encompasses film, sound, performance and sculpture. Her work explores a distributed, expanded, and shared notion of voice using dialogue as both method and subject matter.

Holly Thomas is a dance artist, choreographer and performer. In her practice she explores the often uncharted territory of dance and visual impairment, and the aesthetics of choreography from a non-visual perspective.
