Join South Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone and Women in Hebron on Saturday 17th October to connect, create, and learn together through Palestinian craft, film, and discussion.

In the afternoon we’ll be joined by Women in Hebron, a cooperative for embroidery and craft by Palestinian women in the West Bank. They will be running a workshop from 2pm until 4pm so you can learn the Palestinian art of Tatreez. Afterwards they will talk about what is happening in the West Bank and how the cooperative is responding. You will also have the chance to buy beautiful handcrafted products made by the cooperative and support the work they are doing.

In the evening, starting at 6:30pm, we will be screening Carol Mansour’s Stitching Palestine. It follows twelve Palestinian women whose personal stories, memories and experiences of displacement are connected through Palestinian embroidery. Following the film we will hold a collective discussion about Tatreez, women’s histories, identity and cultural resistance.

Throughout the day we will have different activities you can get involved in including letter writing for UK prisoners for Palestine and sharing ideas about how to build a community boycott. There will be food and drink available.
