The Boot Factory Sessions

The Boot Factory Sessions at Artist Residence Bristol

A gig on Friday 9th October. The event starts at 20:00.

Join us at The Boot Factory for an evening of music; Represented by the mighty Nobody Is Watching, Missy A is a Stroud-born selector whose journey began at Stroud Valleys Artspace, where an early passion for music grew into a distinctive, exploratory sound.

Trained in the improvisation of folk violin from the age of seven and shaped by years attending WOMAD Festival, she developed a deep-rooted connection to rhythm, repetition, and global musical traditions.

As a member of Stroud's Joicey Collective (founded in 2023), Missy A is a key fixture in the local scene. Her sets move fluidly across breakbeat, house, and playful sampled elements, with occasional detours into cheeky acid and booty bass.

Her style is deeply shaped by her time working at a local record shop. This has fueled an intentional and wildly eclectic personal collection—ranging from disco, funk, and soul to Latin and post-punk new wave.
