Last entry: 9pm. This is a day festival and we encourage you to be part of it all :)
Ashton Court Mansion is an iconic heritage building with over 600 years of history, yet 75% of the building is derelict and unsafe. The Bristol Historic Buildings Trust are restoring it to create a community-run space for community-focused events. A portion of the ticket proceeds and 100% of bar proceeds will go towards this work.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
- 1-6pm: Under 18s are permitted with an accompanying adult (1:1 ratio). Adults are responsible for U18s at all times. Children under age 12 attend for free. Please email [email protected] in advance if you’re bringing U12s.
- 6pm onwards: 18+ only. Challenge 25 at the bar - bring valid ID.
--------------------------------
The Rare Fowl Feast started in the Forest of Dean as a small gathering of friends celebrating a decolonialised version of the American Thanksgiving. Instead of creepy pilgrim vibes, the Feast honoured the late harvest season with dishes from times before - the rarest of fowl, and many vegan dishes too! In 2025, we took over a castle for our first weekend festival. This year, we will be skipping the feast… but keeping the revelry.
The Rare Fowl Feast is a time to step outside the norm. Much like Venice’s Martedí Grasso celebration, which allows commoners to dress up fancy with Venetian masks, the Rare Fowl Feast breaks down class structures and allows peasants and royalty to dress as one another! Similar to the Roman Saturnalia, which features a “world turned upside down”.
Now - more than ever - there is a deep need to bring people together, explore historic cultural traditions, connect through folklore… and be silly!
Come revel with us!
Rare Fowl!
