Field Trip. A pocket-sized festival by Vinyl Gathering at Avonleigh Orchard
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Anyone who’s been to Vinyl Gathering’s Red Church sessions knows they’ve got something special going on. There’ll be no big-name influencers here, Field Trip’s all about fostering local digging communities, fueled by pure music love and sunshine dancing. If organic orchards, campfire chats and record stalls sound like your kinda bliss-out weekender, then get ye to Bradford-on-Avon!"

Vinyl Gathering takes it’s jam-packed monthly nights from the pub to the field, with a dedicated tribe of vinyl devotees spinning cross-spectrum sounds spanning soul to soca, Balearic to breaks, highlife to house, and beyond. Spread across 2 days + camping at a beautiful site on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon, with an intimate 250 person capacity.

A UNIQUE EVENT

We programme shorter sets so that we can allow a whole cosmos of DJs from Bradford on Avon, Bath and Bristol to showcase the most prized hidden treasures and secret weapons from their collections. The approach has created a unique and magical community vibe. At each night the energy is always high, the collective spirit strong, and the sheer quality of the tunes heard through our bespoke soundsystem never fail to surprise and delight.

It was only a matter of time before somebody quipped, “We should do this in a field…”

WHAT WE HAVE IN STORE

We are expanding on our existing vibe and going alfresco, relocating a short hop to the glorious Wiltshire countryside to an organic orchard. We’ll have dancing across 2 covered but open stages, showcasing diverse sets from many members of our devoted community.

We don’t want to lose the adult-focused feel of our regular events, but we know how rare and special it is to enjoy quality music in a field with the family without breaking the bank, so kids are welcome.

From 9pm onwards we envisage more of a grown-up party, so get the childcare booked in/kids down in the family campsite, and enjoy the revelry. Music programming will end at midnight on Saturday, and we’ll have a fire pit to gather around and chat ourselves silly until the wee hours. You can camp over, or return to site on Sunday for 11am and party until the early evening crescendo at 6pm.

IN ADDITION TO THE MUSIC

On top of 2 stages of dancing, we’ll have good times activities across the site, including an interactive quiz session from The Big Fat Quiz Co, The Artiscool workshops for all throughout the weekend, morning yoga and DJ-led party games, lounging and chill out areas and more. And, being set within a beautiful organic orchard, we’ll also have an organic growers tour around the wider site.

We’ll have a bountifully stocked bar by local favourites The Shoes / Lucky's, with beers and cider on tap, cold cans by the fridge-load, wines, top-tier cocktails, mocktails and softies.

Your taste buds will be dancing to Pura Vida Tacos, Punk Burgers and Neopolitan woodfire pizza from The Pizza Box. Plus Coffee and homemade cake from The Coffee Station

We’ll have record stalls from Velomatic Records, Crate Expectations and Gina’s vintage and festival get-up shop, so come ready to pickup some new wax, and a new look for the weekend.

All locally sourced.

A POCKET-SIZED FESTIVAL

We have found a location that allows us to put on a small event that is accessible from the centre of town but also allows for camping onsite. Pretty dreamy, but that said, space is limited.

Anyone wanting to camp and/or bring younger members of your family, we advise purchasing these tickets sooner rather than later, as ticket allocation is more limited in these areas.
